Prisons

As a correctional service agency, we look upon ourselves as positive change agents in the holistic perspective. We strive to provide a congenial atmosphere for inculcation of a positive values, attitudes, outlook and philosophy among all prisoners so that they on release from jail reintegrate themselves into society in a harmonious manner. We endeavor to provide all possible opportunities for prisoners to channelise their energies into positive, creative and productive directions both during their stay in Jail and thereafter. Our aim is strive for professional excellence of the highest order in delivery of our correctional services to society. We respect and value the human dignity and resource potential of each prisoner and motivate them toward voluntary compliance with norms and rules of prison discipline. Consistent with sound principles of correctional management, it is our sincere effort to mould the attitude of every member of correctional service in the perspective of a friend, guide and philosopher to prisoners. We work with other agencies in a spirit of coordination and fellowship.
